Classrooms to Careers: Hudson Valley Credit Union Awards College Scholarships to Student Members

Hudson Valley Credit Union has been empowering our community's financial success for more than six decades.
In an effort to equip students for collegiate growth and success, Hudson Valley Credit Union (HVCU), in collaboration with the New York Credit Union Association (NYCUA), awarded $11,000 in scholarships to members who are 2026 high school graduates pursuing higher education. The contributions to local students come on the heels of the HVCU Charitable Foundation’s disbursement of $550,000 in nonprofit grants, further cementing the credit union’s commitment to the communities it serves.
Eight HVCU members were selected out of 61 applicants based on their academic achievements, after-school activity involvement and community service, as well as their leadership in their communities and a strong writing portfolio. This year’s scholarship recipients include:
- KaiLani Angiolillo of Highland, New York, is attending Binghamton University.
- Rachel Berliner of Princeton Junction, New Jersey, is attending the University of Pennsylvania.
- Jacob Cheung of Hopewell Junction, New York, is attending the University of Pennsylvania.
- Ved Kaderu of Fishkill, New York, is attending Cornell University.
- Karolina Mroczek of Wappingers Falls, New York, is attending Northeastern University.
- Connor O’Reilly of Brewster, New York, is attending Virginia Tech.
- Amanda Parker of Garrison, New York, is attending Stony Brook University.
- Lila Sinacori of Campbell Hall, New York, is attending the United States Military Academy at West Point.
“At HVCU, our mission extends beyond financial education. We’re equally committed to expanding access to higher education,” said HVCU’s Community Impact Manager John DeAngelis. “By investing in student success through scholarships, we’re empowering the next generation of leaders and providing the resources they need to flourish academically.”
Beyond the scholarship program, HVCU also sponsors Marist University’s Hudson Valley Scholars Program, an initiative where Hudson Valley organizations award scholarships to local high school graduates attending Marist. HVCU’s $4,000 annual contribution helps develop the region’s future leaders, ensuring the Hudson Valley community grows and thrives for generations to come.
