Huron Area Education FCU

The Huron Area Education Federal Credit Union was formed in 1952 by a group of educators looking to provide a better financial option for their co-workers. In doing so they created a financial institution that understands the needs of educators. That philosophy still holds true today. In fact, our Board of Directors and staff are all current or former school employees or have family members that are. We understand the needs of our members because we are just like you!

HAEFCU Announces “Ca$h for the Classroom” Recipients

Huron Area Education Federal Credit Union Board and staff consists of current and former school employees or have family members who are, so they understand the needs that our school employees have in purchasing “extras” for their classroom. To fulfill those needs for their members, HAEFCU started the “Cash for the Classroom” program nine years ago. The program has been able to help 40 educators over the years. The two credit union members who each won $200 to purchase supplies for their classroom this fall were Michelle Vissia- a 5th grade Special Services teacher at Washington 4-5 Center in Huron and Stacey Westby- 3rd grade Special Services teacher at Madsion 2-3 Center in Huron.

The credit union holds this drawing twice a year and the next drawing will be this spring. Educators in the counties of Beadle, Hand, Kingsbury, Sanborn and Spink who are members of the credit union are eligible and encouraged to contact HAEFCU and fill out a short application for their chance to get extra “ca$h” for the classroom.
