FORUM Credit Union is proudly celebrating its 80th Anniversary this year, inviting members and the local community to participate in a year-long promotion. 
 
This year marks FORUM’s 80th Anniversary of serving members with guidance and support.  FORUM was founded on December 7, 1941 by the employees of Indiana Bell Telephone Company. On May 1, 2000, the Credit Union changed its name from Telco Credit Union to FORUM Credit Union. In its 80 years of operation, FORUM has grown from a small volunteer-operated cooperative to a more technologically advanced not-for-profit financial cooperative dedicated to delivering financial guidance, products, and services to help more than 160,000 members live their financial dreams.
 
“Eighty years ago, a small group of Indiana Bell employees volunteered their time to form this Credit Union,” said Doug True, CEO of FORUM Credit Union. “Their aim in 1941 was to help their fellow co-workers who needed money with small dollar loans, and to also provide a place for co-workers to save money.  The money saved by members of the Credit Union would fund loans for their fellow members.  Fast forward to today and the Credit Union still fulfills this same purpose – helping members with both their borrowing needs and their desire to save money.  Sure the products are more complex, but the cooperative model remains the same.  As a member you are an owner and we are here to help you live your financial dreams.  If you are a member – thank you for your trust in us.  If you are not a member – we welcome the opportunity to serve you.  Please join our dedicated FORUM team in celebrating 80 years.” 
 
The 80th Anniversary Celebration kicks off in January with monthly member drawings. Any member who opens any new deposit or loan product or service, or conducts an account transaction (withdrawal or deposit) of $80 or more with FORUM during the designated month can be entered to win a FORUM branded swag bag. The swag bag consists of a reusable bag, reusable straw, mug, and a $10 Grub Hub gift card. Members must fill out the form at forumcu.com/anniversary to be entered. The celebration concludes in December with an additional drawing for a cash deposit of $800. Every member who was eligible to win January-December 2021 will automatically be entered to win the $800 end-of-the-year contest drawing.
