Security Service FCU Donation Helps Purchase Telehealth Kits for Children in Need

(SAN ANTONIO, TX – JANUARY 22, 2021) –– The Security Service Charitable Foundation is helping the Children's Justice Center provide mental health services for more children by donating $5,000 to supply telehealth kits. These kits are a connection to positive resources and healing. They equip children with iPad, pens, papers, markers, play dough, and positive affirmation cards.

The focus of the Children's Justice Center is to reduce the trauma of child abuse investigation, helping children feel safe so that they reveal the truth. The center’s homelike facility was designed to make children as comfortable as possible while they receive coordinated services during the investigative process.

“Mental health services are vital in the recovery of children who have been abused,” said Rebecca Martell, executive director for the Utah County Children's Justice Center. “The Security Service Charitable Foundation’s generous donation is helping us to reach children who are unable to come to our facility due to various challenges.”

The center currently serves 1,000 new child victims annually in Utah County. The new satellite location allows the center to serve an additional 350 northern Utah County victims.

“No one should have to suffer through the pain these children have experienced,” said Ben Wiseman senior vice president of member service—Mountain West Region for Security Service Federal Credit Union. “Helping them have access to healing during such a traumatic time is pivotal.”

The Security Service Charitable Foundation helps further Security Service Federal Credit Union’s corporate goal of community service by contributing to deserving organizations and causes in the credit union's market areas.
