Security Service Charitable Foundation Purchases Necessities for Infants in Need

(SAN ANTONIO, TX – FEBRUARY 23, 2021) –– The Security Service Charitable Foundation is donating $5,000 to the Reynolds Home, a community leader in providing shelter, security, and basic services to women. The $5,000 donation will be used to provide diapers, wipes, and other necessities for babies and families in need.

“We work daily to help mothers see their own value, which helps them to provide independently for themselves and their children,” said Starlynn Lucero, director of community outreach for Reynolds Home. “But we can only get to this emotional level of support after physical needs for things like diapers and other hygiene items are met. It’s hard to feel good about yourself when your child does not have diapers.”

Founded in 1990, the Reynolds Home’s ultimate goal is not just to provide temporary emergency shelter, but also to transition families into their own homes. Here, families learn how to secure income, manage their time, budget, and make use of community resources for counseling and healthcare.

“The Reynolds Home is a wonderful organization that does so much for the El Paso community,” said Marisela Molinar, vice president of member service-Mountain region for Security Service Federal Credit Union. “Security Service is honored to help them empower families to be able to care for themselves. It’s a gift that can last for generations.”

The Security Service Charitable Foundation helps further Security Service Federal Credit Union’s corporate goal of community service by contributing to deserving organizations and causes in the credit union's market areas.
