(Somerville, MA) Naveo Credit Union announced it would offer its annual Carlos Faria and Victor Da Silva Memorial Scholarship for the 2021-2022 academic year. Naveo is offering three scholarships of $1,500 each. 

The scholarship is open to full-time students currently enrolled, accepted or awaiting acceptance to a college or university in an undergraduate or graduate program. To qualify, applicants or their parent/guardian must be or become a Naveo member by the submission deadline. Applicants are asked to complete an application, provide an official copy of their high school and/or college transcripts and write a 400-500-word essay on the importance of financial literacy and how it relates to them. Scholarship payments will be made directly to the college/university selected.   

Naveo is accepting complete scholarship applications through May 21, 2021. Naveo’s Scholarship Committee will anonymously score recipients based on the quality of the essay and their financial need, scholastic merit as well as community and school involvement. The recipients will be notified by June 9, 2021. Due to the ongoing pandemic and restrictions on gatherings, a date for the presentation of scholarships is to be determined.
