FORUM Credit Union Awards Nearly $25,000 in Grants to Local Educators

Indianapolis, IN - October 25, 2021 - FORUM Credit Union is pleased to announce that the FORUM Foundation has awarded $24,981 to 14 educators throughout central Indiana for the 2021-2022 school year.

The Foundation was created in 2014 to strengthen the communities FORUM serves by enhancing educational opportunities through both collegiate scholarships and educator grants. Grants may be used for any direct classroom expenses, including, but not limited to, supplies needed to fund a project for the classroom, basic classroom materials, supplemental items to enhance classroom learning, or an experience to enrich educational involvement.

Since 2014, the FORUM Foundation has awarded over $200,000 in grants to more than 130 schools throughout central Indiana, helping nearly 37,000 students. This year, the Foundation received applications from 156 educators requesting over $285,000 for educational tools from several disciplines including STEM, literacy, art, music, and physical education.

The recipients of the 2021-2022 FORUM Foundation educator grants are:
Michelle Brinkman, Nora Elementary School; Emily Chestnut, North Wayne Elementary School; Somer Compton, Riverside Intermediate School; Clara Crosby, Arlington Elementary School; Nancy Dain-Cooper, New Britton Elementary School; Bernade Flournoy, Carl Wilde Elementary School; Jennifer Frye, Greenfield Central Junior High School; Allison Martin, Clay Middle School; Beth Oburn, Brownsburg High School; Elizabeth Sei, Douglas MacArthur Elementary School; John Stevenson, Center for Inquiry School 2; Lauren Tauer, Avon High School; Lishawna Taylor, Lawrence Central High School; Annie Wing, Weston Elementary School.

Additionally, collegiate scholarship applications for the 2022-2023 academic year are currently open through January 31, 2022.
