Golden 1 Credit Union Provides Scholarships for Exemplary Students

SACRAMENTO, Calif., July 25, 2022 – Golden 1 Credit Union (Golden 1) announced college scholarships have been awarded to 43 students throughout California. Recipients range from incoming college freshmen to college seniors, all who will attend in-state colleges or universities in the fall, are stand-out academic students, and are actively involved in their communities.

“Golden 1 is committed to doing our part to help California’s future leaders achieve their educational goals and dreams,” said Erica Taylor, Vice President of Communications and Community Relations for Golden 1 Credit Union. “Our annual scholarship program is one of the most important ways we give back to our members and the communities we are proud to serve.”

The Golden 1 Credit Union scholarship program provides credit union members and their dependents financial assistance, valued at up to $20,000 per student, for full-time students who plan to attend accredited, nonprofit two-year community colleges or four-year colleges and universities in California. Students received awards based on their academic achievements, community involvement, extracurricular activities, and education and career goals.

“Year after year we continue to be impressed with the number of students submitting high-quality applications to our program,” said Taylor. “This year’s recipients are truly remarkable, and we are incredibly proud to support these highly motivated and determined students. The future is bright for these young individuals, and we wish them all the best in their future academic pursuits.”

Since the program began in 2013, Golden 1 has awarded nearly 500 scholarships to college-bound students throughout the state.
