Tropical Financial Donates Nearly 400 Backpacks to Students Heading Back to the Classroom

MIRAMAR, Fla. – Tropical Financial Credit Union is helping South Florida students prepare to return to the classroom by donating over 300 backpacks, lunch boxes and other classroom items.  The supplies are going to various organizations or directly to schools in the tri-county region for distribution to students prior to the 2022/2023 school year starting.  They include:

  • Andover Middle School-Miami Gardens

  • Hubert O Sibley K8 Academy-Miami

  • Nathan B. Young Elementary-Opa-locka

  • ChildNet for Broward County foster kids

  • SunFire Charter High School-Oakland Park

  • West Hollywood Elementary-Hollywood

  • City of South Bay for distribution to 300 local families-Palm Beach County

Tropical Financial has an ongoing partnership with all of the schools and organizations, providing support for them and their employees year-round.  The relationships are managed by business development specialists Adriana Hernandez and Michelle Harrington.

“We love supporting our partners and the community any way we can, especially when it involves helping children,” said Harrington, who focuses on school outreach for the credit union. “The annual backpack drives are something we especially look forward to.”
