Earthmover CU Recognized for Many Ways They Benefit Community

OSWEGO, Ill. — Earthmover Credit Union (ECU) received the 2022 Mid-Size Business Excellence Award from the Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce.

This award recognizes the many ways ECU benefits the community, in addition to sustaining an excellent and innovative business environment. Vice President of Marketing and Business Development Janel Cabadas accepted the award at a ceremony from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 28 at Bureau Gravity in Aurora.

“Earthmover Credit Union is truly honored to receive this award,” Cabadas said. “Everyday our staff works toward making this difference in our members’ lives, and we are always seeking ways to positively impact our community. It is this passion, day in and day out, that gives us the opportunity to be there when our community needs us most. We are stronger together.”

ECU continues to be an innovator and leader in the credit union industry; in 2021, the S&P ranked ECU as 18th out of the top 100 best-performing credit unions in the U.S. ECU has a student-run branch in Oswego High School, Panther Credit Union, which celebrates its 25-year anniversary this year. ECU strives to offer competitive financial products and services to benefit members. In 2021 alone, ECU saved members over $7.4 million in loan interest. ECU’s commitment to service is demonstrated through regular volunteering and a Community Giveback campaign, in which ECU purchases wish list items for local non-profit organizations. In 2021, ECU supplied $35,000 to 19 organizations in wish list donations.

“We are fortunate to have an extremely supportive Board of Directors who always put the best of the community and our membership first,” said Cabadas. “With their guidance, our staff can go out into the community and really demonstrate the credit union difference.”

ECU is a not-for-profit full-service banking institution that has been serving its members for over 60 years. Membership is available to anyone living or working in one of the following counties: Kendall, Kane, DuPage, Will, LaSalle, DeKalb and Grundy. As a not-for-profit organization, Earthmover returns its earnings to its members through lower loan rates, higher savings rates, lower fees and more. ECU currently provides banking services to over 29,000 members at its six branch offices, located in Yorkville, Montgomery, Oswego, Aurora and North Aurora, as well as a student-run branch in the Oswego High School.
