Raiz FCU Partners with "Opportunity Knock$" Financial Program

El Paso, TX – On Sunday, November 6 at 3:00 PM (Mountain Standard Time), the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) television network will air the premier episode of “Opportunity Knock$”, a television program featuring six families and their journey to break free from financial hardship.

Raiz Federal Credit Union, a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), helped one of those families residing in the El Paso area to overcome their financial hurdles and achieve financial freedom.

“Every day, we have the privilege to work with you to help you reach your financial goals. It’s with great pleasure that we assisted Patricia and her family through this exciting endeavor that will also provide millions of Americans with guidance for their own financial situations,” said Rick Pustejovsky, Raiz Federal Credit Union AVP of Real Estate and Business Lending.

A news release distributed by Opportunity Knock$ explains, “The families, whose paths to financial hardships include relatable experiences such as reliance on credit, medical debt, predatory lending and student loans, will each be paired with one of the series’ three Opportunity Coaches. These coaches will work with the families to understand their unique financial goals and challenges, advise them on best practices, and help them overcome the mental and emotional hurdles associated with debt.”

Patricia and her family are assisted by Louis Barajas, a member of CNBC's Financial Advisory Council and the first Latino to serve as a Director on the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards.

The series can also be viewed on streaming service PBS Passport and online at OpportunityKnocks.net/Watch-Here-Now. Viewers can learn more about Patricia’s story online at OpportunityKnocks.net/Patricia
