Black Hills FCU Donates $5,000 to Oahe Hockey Association

Pierre, S.D. – Black Hills Federal Credit Union (BHFCU) recently made a $5,000 contribution to the Oahe Hockey Association’s (OHA) Capitalize on the Future campaign. The campaign supports needed renovations and expansions to the organization’s PAYSA facility.

The Oahe Hockey Association is the governing body for amateur hockey in the Pierre and Ft. Pierre communities. Between the Expo Center and PAYSA, hundreds of kids can participate in ice activities like hockey and figure skating, and the community has access to ice recreation.

“OHA provides central South Dakota communities with access to ice activities between its two facilities, something unique for our size,” said Chris McConnell, BHFCU Pierre Manager. “Several of our staff’s children directly benefit from using OHA’s facilities. We want to ensure many more have that same opportunity.”

The mission of OHA to provide these opportunities directly aligns with BHFCU’s mission to improve the lives of its members and better the communities it serves. BHFCU is dedicated to help grow and improve the areas it serves.

BHFCU supports community needs through corporate donations, employee fundraisers, and contributions from members and community supporters to the Black Hills FCU Charitable Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Established in Rapid City in 1941, Black Hills Federal Credit Union is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative serving more than 92,000 members. The community-chartered credit union has locations in Pierre, Custer, Eagle Butte, Hot Springs, Rapid City, Sioux Falls, Spearfish, Sturgis, and Wall, South Dakota.
