$17,500 in Scholarships to 12 High School Seniors

Ten high school seniors receive assistance for their further education from their local credit union.
RAPID CITY, S.D. – In 2003, Black Hills Federal Credit Union (BHFCU) began the VIBZ Scholarship Program
to promote education and financial literacy in its communities. Over the past two decades, BHFCU has
awarded more than 120 scholarships to local students.


This year, ten high school seniors from across South Dakota were selected to receive scholarships
totaling $20,000. Demonstrating outstanding commitment, leadership, community service, and
academic achievement, BHFCU is pleased to announce the ten recipients of the 2023 VIBZ Scholarships,
each receiving a one-time scholarship of $2,000.

Isaac F. – Homeschool; University of SD, Kinesiology, Business, Music.
Anna K. – Spearfish High School; University of SD, Communication Sciences.
Ellie N. – T.F. Riggs High School; Black Hills State University, Business.
Youngjin Y. – Rapid City Stevens High School; University of Utah, Physics.
Sadie M. – Custer High School; SD State University, Public Health.


BHFCU supports community needs through corporate donations, employee fundraisers, and
contributions from members, staff, and community supporters to the Black Hills FCU Charitable Fund, a
501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
