CO-OP Financial Services Supporting CMN Hospitals with Miracle Match

captureRANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (October 11, 2016) – CO-OP is supporting Shop for Miracles, the Credit Unions for Kids fundraiser and member awareness campaign benefiting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, by matching credit union industry donations up to $500,000. The company will provide up to $10,000 in CO-OP Miracle Match funds for each CO-OP client credit union and up to $1,000 for other credit unions – as well as awarding two state leagues with a $25,000 donation made on their behalf to the CMN Hospital of their choice. “Consumers want to do business with purpose-driven companies committed to bettering their communities,” said Sarah Canepa Bang, EVP, Industry Relations, for CO-OP, and a member of the CMN Hospitals Board of Governors. “CO-OP Financial Services wants Americans to be aware of what credit unions are doing in their communities; CO-OP Miracle Match provides an excellent way for credit unions to maximize the positive local impact of participating in the 2016 Shop for Miracles fundraiser. In addition, our new ‘league contest’ highlights the important role state leagues play in the credit union system.” The two leagues will be selected based on the state with the most credit unions and the highest percentage of credit unions participating in the Shop for Miracles programs. CU4Kids is asking credit unions to make a donation of $0.25 on or before International Credit Union Day (October 20, 2016) on behalf of each of their debit/credit cardholders. Credit unions applying for CO-OP Miracle Match will receive a matching donation. Throughout the month of October, credit unions are also being asked to urge their members to use their favorite social media channel to post something they love about their credit unions using #ShopforMiracles. Within its total support for Shop for Miracles, CO-OP will donate $1 per post (up to $100,000) to CMN Hospitals. Each year, CU4Kids, Credit Union National Association and World Council of Credit Unions promote Shop for Miracles as a way for credit unions to celebrate International Credit Union Day. A part of the CO-OP Purpose corporate social responsibility programs, CO-OP Miracle Match is a $1 million philanthropic matching program that encourages credit unions to create and participate in local CMN Hospital fundraisers.
