Glendora, CA, Date, 2017— America's Christian Credit Union is announcing the launch of its annual college scholarship contest. Consistent with its advocacy for higher education, the credit union has allocated funds for four $500 scholarships to be distributed to high school seniors, or college students (undergraduate and graduate students included) who are attending an accredited institution. America’s Christian CU’s scholarship program is held annually to support local and national students who exemplify ACCU’s mission, “Reach, Serve and Teach.”

President and CEO Mendell L. Thompson expressed the importance of supporting education through scholarships. “Furthering one’s education in a Christian institution allows a person to cultivate a deeper understanding of God and the gifts He has bestowed. Developing and exercising these gifts on life’s pathway allows them to be used for His glory. We believe in equipping the next generation for success, and education plays a major role in that process.”

The contest rules veer from traditional and instead ask contestants to submit a video that conveys what the student has identified as their gifting and how they intend on impacting culture.

All entries are due by May 31, 2017 at 5pm PST. Entries will be reviewed by the executive leadership team on a basis of merit, community involvement, scholarship and relevancy.
