Black Hills FCU Donates $2,500 to SD Public Broadcasting

Rapid City, S.D.  – Recognizing the importance of local programming and news production, Black Hills Federal Credit Union recently presented South Dakota Public Broadcasting with a $2,500 donation in support of the establishment of their Black Hills Bureau.

With a planned opening in late 2017, the bureau will serve as the reporting and storytelling production center for South Dakota Public Broadcasting in the Black Hills region. BHFCU’s donation to the organization will assist in the renovation of an existing building in downtown Rapid City that will serve as a radio station and office space for SDPB producers, as well as support television programming and digital-first productions.

“South Dakota Public Broadcasting has a long tradition of delivering the engaging stories and original media content our communities need to generate healthy discussion about the issues affecting us every day,” said Carol Brown, vice president of marketing and business development at BHFCU. “Our support will help ensure residents of the Black Hills have the access they need to SDPB’s important services and educational programs now and into the future.

SDPB’s new Black Hills Bureau will be located at 415 Main Street in Rapid City. It will allow SDPB to broadcast statewide programs from Rapid City and serve as a public space for program tapings, premieres, public events and audience-participation discussions.
