Members of the South Dakota Central Chapter gathered on Tuesday morning to present Jan Manolis with a donation. The central chapter raised the funds by holding a 50/50 drawing at each of their chapter meetings. Jan accepted the donation on behalf of the Jan Manolis Family Safe Center.

The Jan Manolis Family Safe Center is a non-profit organization that provides assistance to victims of domestic abuse, which includes physical, emotional and sexual assault.  They provide shelter, interpretation services, counseling, transportation; among other resources to mostly women and children, but men as well, to help them build, or re-build, their self-worth.  They have 1 full-time employee, 1 part-time employee, and about 20 volunteers/advocates.  They have been around since 2009, when Jan separated from the YWCA to create the Jan Manolis Family Safe Center.
