Jeanne D'Arc CU is Opening Branch in Local High School

LOWELL – Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union is gearing up to open its second branch in Nashua, NH with a new high school branch inside Nashua High School South. The Credit Union received approval from the State of New Hampshire Banking Department and the Massachusetts Commissioner of Banks to open the Credit Union’s third high school branch in fall 2017. This approval was granted less than one year after the Credit Union opened their Nashua branch on Spit Brook Road in September 2016.

The new branch, which will be open during regular school hours, will reside in the main entrance hallway of the school. It will include a walk-up ATM as well as two Jeanne D’Arc staff members ready to assist students, teachers and all faculty with their banking needs.

“This new branch will allow us to offer convenient financial and educational opportunities to the many students and staff at Nashua High South,” said Mark S. Cochran, President and Chief Executive Officer of Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union. “We are excited to extend our mission even further throughout the Nashua community,” he added.

Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union also offers two other high school branches at Dracut High School and Lowell High School.

“We are very excited with the addition of Jeanne D’Arc to the South community, said Nashua High School South Principal, Mr. Keith Richard. “We see this as a great benefit to our students as they will have authentic experiences in the world of finance and be afforded the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the banking system,” he added.

In addition to the in-school branch, the partnership between Jeanne D’Arc and Nashua High School South includes an Introduction to Financial Services course, taught by a certified member of the Credit Union’s Financial Education team. Through an extensive curriculum, students will learn basic banking practices and gain valuable knowledge of financial products and services. The class also includes hands-on experience where students will work in the branch, assisting members and managing cash.

“We always strive to provide our students with real-world experiences to benefit them once they leave Nashua South,” said Mr. Richard. “I see Jeanne D’Arc coming to South as just another wonderful opportunity we will be able to share with our students,” he added.
