1st United Credit Union Adopts Local Schools

PLEASANTON, CA - 1st United Credit Union celebrates their community by investing time and money where their members live, work, and play.  Taking this social responsibility to heart, 1st United has launched an Adopt-a-School program, supporting several Alameda County elementary schools.

For several years, the Credit Union has supported schools with fundraising programs and by providing financial education to more than 12,000 high school students in Alameda County. Seeing a further need at many of the schools, 1st United has since bundled their Adopt-a-School program to include volunteerism, sponsorship, and financial education.

1st United sees the Adopt-a-School program as an opportunity to make a real difference in the community. Not only does it open the door for them to help out in the classrooms and provide a much-needed set of extra hands at school events, they are able to partner with the schools to bring financial education to students, teachers, and families.

Chabot Elementary in Oakland, Fruitvale Elementary in Oakland, and Donlon Elementary in Pleasanton have all been adopted by 1st United. “We are so grateful to the schools for welcoming us into their families and hope that our involvement – large or small – contributes to their success,” explains Lisha Fabris, Communications Manager at 1st United.
