Cabrillo CU Prepared to Help Members Affected by Furlough

San Diego, California – December 11, 2017 – In order to help provide financial continuity during a possible Government Shutdown, Cabrillo Credit Union is offering resources to assist members in the event of a furlough.

“As a credit union with a 62 year history of working with Federal employees, Cabrillo Credit Union has provided furlough support to thousands of members,” said Dean Odle, Cabrillo’s President and CEO.

Odle went on to say, “Because of this long experience, the Cabrillo team stands ready to help our members with multiple options to provide financial stability and peace of mind during this potentially difficult time.”

Cabrillo Credit Union members have several options for support during a furlough, including: 1) Free Holiday Skip-A-Payment for eligible loans, 2) PAL , a 0% Payroll Assurance Loan for certain federal employees when their payroll is not received, due to holidays, natural disasters or furlough, 3) Furlough Loan with a very low interest rate and flexible terms and 4) Personalized assistance for each member, based on their specific needs.

“We have successfully helped members through several Government Shutdowns over the years and we’re here to help them again, “said Odle.

Cabrillo Credit Union was established in 1955, to serve Border Patrol agents in San Diego. Today it serves as the primary financial institution for those employed by the U.S. Border Patrol and other federal agencies in the San Diego area. Cabrillo CU also serves Sharp HealthCare, Carlsbad City employees, and is open to anyone who lives or works in San Diego County.
