Trustone Financial FCU Donates $1,340 to Ronald McDonald House

PLYMOUTH, Minn. (January 30, 2018) - TruStone Financial Federal Credit Union employees recently raised $670 for Ronald McDonald House Charities. The TruStone Financial Foundation then matched these funds dollar-for-dollar for a total donation of $1,340.

The donated funds were given to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Upper Midwest and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Wisconsin.

Donating to local charities isn’t new for the employees of TruStone Financial; in 2017, the credit union’s employees raised nearly $25,000 for worthy causes. The credit union hosts a monthly Charity Casual Day to support local organizations that are chosen by its employees. Staff members are permitted to wear jeans in exchange for a charitable contribution, and together the credit union and its employees make a wide spread impact in their communities.

“Our credit union holds the philosophy of people helping people when it comes to serving our members and the communities we call home,” shared TruStone Financial Chief Business Officer, Steve Steen. “We are proud our employees self-selected to donate to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Their contributions, along with the match from the TruStone Financial Foundation, will bring continuous support to families who need it most.”

Ronald McDonald House Charities drives programming to directly improve the health and well-being of children and their families. By providing a nearby place to call home at little to no cost, Ronald McDonald House Charities helps families give constant love and support to their hospitalized child, which they believe is as powerful as the strongest medicine prescribed.

Michelle Gitzen, TruStone Financial’s Lyn-Lake branch manager, recently saw first-hand the impact this organization makes: “I am forever grateful for the comfort the Ronald McDonald House offered my extended family during their stay. The organization’s staff is outstanding and showers everyone who walks through their door with care and stability.”
