NorthCountry Federal CU Donates $100,000 to Local YMCA

NorthCountry Federal Credit Union has made a seventh-consecutive annual gift of $100,000 to support the Greater Burlington YMCA’s Youth Development programs. The gift helps ensure children from families that need a little extra support can access high-quality child care, learn to swim, enjoy a summer camp experience, and have safe and enriching afterschool opportunities.

“We are so pleased to continue our relationship with the Greater Burlington Y,” said Bob Morgan, NorthCountry CEO. “The Y has an impressive track record of serving our neighbors with a wide range of successful programs. We are especially impressed with the youth development programs, helping young people learn, have fun and enhance their futures.”

Each year, the Y nurtures 3,000 children through their participation in Y early childhood, afterschool, swim team, and summer programs. Additionally, 1,000 children are enrolled in Y water safety and swim lessons.
NorthCountry’s support for the Y goes beyond the financial. Employees have volunteered on the Y Board of Directors and committees, put in many hours getting Camp Abnaki ready for summer, participated at the Y’s spring Healthy Kids Day event, and generously support the Y’s annual Holiday Giving Tree program – hosting a tree at NorthCountry’s Swift Street location this past year.

NorthCountry Federal Credit Union is open to anyone who lives or works in northern Vermont. It is headquartered in South Burlington. It provides financial services designed to provide convenience and value, and commits 10% of its previous year’s net revenue to community giving. It was organized in 1950, and is the third largest credit union in Vermont.
