Jeanne D'Arc Credit Union Employees Offer a "Sharing Hand"

LOWELL, MA – Several Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union employees recently assembled and donated 50 care packages to the clients of the Lowell Transitional Living Center. The team filled the bags with summertime care items, including wash cloths, antibacterial wipes, bug repellant, rain ponchos, socks, reusable water bottles, battery-operated fans, lip balm, sunscreen and deodorant.

The Credit Union’s Member Service Center Specialist, Kiomarie Ocasio, launched the “The Sharing Hand” initiative in March 2017. Employees from the Member Service Team and the Collections Department worked together to gather donations, purchase items and fill the bags. This is the third round of donations the team has put together.

“After we did our winter donation in 2017, I was thinking of what more we could do to help, and a summer donation came to mind, said Ocasio. “My team all thought it was a great idea.”

“Our employees truly have a heart to serve,” said Mark S. Cochran, President and Chief Executive Officer of Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union. “The Sharing Hand initiative is a perfect example of how our team consistently shows their support and compassion to our neighbors in need,” he added.

The Lowell Transitional Living Center (LTLC) received the bags on Friday, August 3rd.  The organization expressed its appreciation in a thank you card sent to The Sharing Hand participants.

The card read, “Thank you so much for your generosity to the LTLC guests. Your green gift bags came just in time as we were running out of many essentials. Thank you for caring about our clients.”

Ocasio says the team is looking forward to continuing “The Sharing Hand” initiative.
