Affinity FCU Foundation’s Pints for a Purpose Raises More Than $4,000 for Local Charities

Basking Ridge, New Jersey (December 5, 2018) – The Affinity Federal Credit Union (AFCU) Foundation hosted its second annual local beer tasting fundraiser, Pints for a Purpose, to benefit Operation Chillout and Operation Sisterhood. The event took place on November 13, at Revolution, A Social Brew House, 9 South Street in Morristown, New Jersey. The event had nearly 100 attendees and raised more than $4,000.

“It has been a great privilege to work with organizations like Operation Chillout and Operation Sisterhood,” said Judi Meighan, Affinity Foundation Director. “This fundraiser provides a great opportunity to help our veterans and their families, as well as a fun way to bring our community connected together.”

All proceeds from registrations, sponsorships and donations benefited local charities that support homeless veterans, female veterans and their families. The AFCU Foundation extends special thanks to its generous sponsors New Vernon Coach and Motor Works and J. Walker Men’s.

In addition to fundraising events, the AFCU Foundation’s commitment to improving the financial lives of our communities is also exemplified through its free financial wellness offerings. In 2018, the Foundation has provided financial wellness programs with local nonprofits such as the Morris County Office of Hispanic Affairs, in Dover, NJ; Visions & Pathways, in Bridgewater, NJ; Norwalk Grassroots Tennis & Education, in Norwalk, CT; and Edison Township Public Schools Project Pieces, in Edison, NJ.
