Sikorsky CU Organizes Back to School Drives for Local Nonprofits

STRATFORD, CT – Employees from Sikorsky Credit Union organized Back-to-School Drives at their Brookfield, Danbury, Milford, Shelton, Stratford, and Trumbull locations. Each location supports a community-based nonprofit organization and collected needed supplies for local students.

The nonprofit organizations that received donations included the Sterling House, Boys & Girls Club of LNV, McGivney Center, Boys & Girls Club of Milford, Danbury Youth Services, YMCA of Trumbull-Lakewood and the Community Action Agency of Western CT. In addition to school supplies, Sikorsky Credit Union donated an additional $250 to each nonprofit.

Sikorsky Credit Union’s Stationhouse Square Branch, located in Stratford, supports The McGivney Center.  Josie Ponce, Branch Manager at the location, talked about the donation and the continued efforts to support The McGivney Center.

“We love being able to contribute to The McGivney Center whenever we can,” she explained. “They do great work for children within our community and thanks to the generosity of our members, we can help them achieve their goals.”

Joe DeSabella, the Program Director at The McGivney Center, said “We are so grateful for Sikorsky Credit Union’s commitment to our McGivney members and community! Being able to provide new school supplies to each of our after-school program members makes a great difference for our families and ensures that our children are starting the school year prepared and ready.”

Sikorsky Credit Union was founded in 1948 and is open to everyone who lives, works, or worships in Fairfield, Hartford, or New Haven counties, with 10 branches located in Bridgeport, Brookfield, Danbury, Milford, Seymour, Shelton, Stratford, and Trumbull.  Bank with Sikorsky Credit Union in person, online, or on the go with our mobile banking app. Deposits are insured by the National Credit Union Administration, an agency of the U.S. Government.
