Texas Trust CU Employee Recognized for Outstanding Community Involvement

Grand Prairie, Texas, September 18, 2019 – Tuesday was quite a special day for Alex Godina, Senior Community Engagement Partner at Texas Trust Credit Union.

Recognizing his community service, one of the cities that Texas Trust serves honored Godina by declaring Tuesday, September 17, Alex Godina Day in Grand Prairie.

Ron Jensen, Mayor of Grand Prairie, issued the proclamation for Alex Godina Day, saluting Godina for “his leadership of the Board of Directors for the Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce and celebrate the historic nature of his role as the first Hispanic Chairman of the Board for this chamber, as well as his many other contributions to the entire Grand Prairie community.”

Godina was honored in a ceremony at a meeting of the Grand Prairie City Council.

“This is a tremendous honor,” Godina said. “It has been a pleasure to work with the Chamber and other community organizations in Grand Prairie toward continued improvement in the city, and being recognized with my own special day is deeply appreciated.”

An eight-year employee of Texas Trust Credit Union, Godina is currently Chairman of the Board of the Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce, where he has been active for more than seven years. He was named Volunteer of the Year by the Chamber in 2018.

“Alex is an exemplary leader who we are proud to have on our team,” said Jim Minge, president and CEO of Texas Trust Credit Union. “Alex is passionate about helping small businesses succeed and through his role in the chamber he has been able to help strengthen Grand Prairie’s business community.”

Godina is also an active member of the Grand Prairie ISD Career Technical and Education Advisory Board and the city’s Tax Increment Financing Board. He also serves as the community representative for the Fannin Middle School Advisory Council. Previously he was a member of the Grand Prairie YMCA Board.
