United Credit Union Staff Helps Socialize Puppy for K94Heroes - Service Dogs for Veterans

Ness City, KS - January 10, 2020 - In August of 2019, United Credit Union in Ness City decided to take on helping to socialize a puppy for the program K94Heroes. K94Heroes in based out of Topeka, Kansas, and provides service dogs to Kansas Veterans at no cost. Lauren Crombie, teller, fostered the Labradoodle and brought Miss Gracie to work with her.

For the past 6 months, the girls have enjoyed Gracie’s presence in the office. The program was well received by our members, and more have come into the office to do business versus the drive thru and over the phone. When Gracie isn’t “working”, several people will ask where she is for the day!

The girls at United Credit Union are grateful for their board members who agreed to allow a puppy in the office. It’s been a wonderful experience and Gracie has definitely left a paw print on the credit union.  Within the next couple months, she will be off to her formal training, and then will meet her veteran. Gracie’s presence will be greatly missed, but her destiny for helping a veteran who fought to keep our freedom is the bigger picture.
