San Diego County CU Sponsoring Heart & Stroke Walk to Promote Healthier Lives

SAN DIEGO, CA - February 14, 2020 – San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution, is a proud sponsor of the 2020 Southwest Riverside County Heart and Stroke Walk. Now through April 18, SDCCU is proud to join the fight against these deadly diseases by collecting donations at its branch locations in Riverside County.

“We encourage the entire community to join together in the fight against heart disease and donate at one of SDCCU’s Temecula or Murrieta branch locations. With cardiovascular disease affecting hundreds of thousands of individuals each year, we are proud to do our part to help build healthier lives by supporting the 2020 Southwest Riverside County Heart and Stroke Walk.” said SDCCU President and CEO Teresa Campbell.

This year’s walk takes place on April 18 at 9 a.m. at Lake Skinner in Winchester, Calif. Thousands of individuals will participate in the walk to join in the fight against heart disease and stroke. The annual 5k, now in its 10th year, aims to raise $500,000 to help in the fight against the nation’s number one and number five killers. The Heart & Stroke Walk also aims to build healthier lives by promoting healthy habits, such as walking, as a regular part of life.

Too long, heart disease and stroke have stolen our precious moments. Let us not waste another minute. With every dollar contributed to the American Heart Association, we are able to fund innovative research, fight for stronger public health policies, and provide critical tools and information to save and improve lives. Let us fight back together and affirm that we are more powerful than these diseases… because everyone has a reason to live a longer, healthier life… and that reason is why we give.
