PORTLAND, OR (April 1, 2020) — Unitus has given $10,000 to local nonprofits Good Neighbor Center, Sunshine Division, SnowCap Community Charities, and Clackamas Service Center to help with COVID-19 crisis support.
Unitus’ donation will help with food scarcity, housing, and household needs for individuals and families, providing emergency food boxes, food delivery, emergency shelter, by-appointment clothing closet visits, and sorely needed hygiene and household items.
In addition to the monetary donation, the credit union added a random act of kindness, partnering with Crisp, a beloved local salad shop, to safely assemble and deliver 160 fresh salads to the hospital heroes at Randall’s Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel.
“We’re incredibly thankful for all of the doctors, nurses, and hospital staff working on the front lines for all of us to provide treatments every day, and especially in times of emergency.” said Steve Stapp, Unitus President/CEO. “This was a small way we could give back to those putting their lives at risk to care for our most vulnerable neighbours.”
