United Federal Credit Union Donates $4,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs of Marion County

MARION, Ohio. – United Federal Credit Union (United) is excited to announce a two-year, $8,000 partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Marion County.

United’s donation will be used to sustain the Club’s ‘Pay It Forward’ program where members learn about organizations in the community and how to give back. The students will participate in activities such as making tie blankets to give to those families in need at the local homeless shelter.

“We are very excited about our partnership with United. When we talked about our Good Character & Citizenship programs, and our focus on teaching our members about giving back to their community, we were thrilled when United was interested in adding to this program,” said Maggie Breeding, Market Director for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Marion County.

United’s Branch Manager in Marion, Robin Schelb, says the credit union’s commitment to community, especially helping young people become great citizens, is part of the philosophy of ‘people helping people’.

“We are excited about our partnership with The Boys & Girls Clubs of Marion County,” said Schelb. “The services and programs they provide make a true difference in the lives of our young people. They are an invaluable resource to hundreds of children and families in the Marion community.”

In addition to the two-year donation commitment, United will also distributed sport packs to the Club’s kids containing a bag, pencil box, water bottle, notebook, pen, and snacks.

“Thank you to United for continuing to teach our members that giving back leads to great futures,” Breeding said. “We are especially thankful for organizations giving to our mission this year. You hear ‘we are in this together’ all the time, it’s so refreshing to see it put into action.”
