STRATFORD, CT – (October 30, 2020) Sikorsky Credit Union proudly received the Desjardins Youth Financial Education Award from The Credit Union League of Connecticut. This is the fourth consecutive year the Credit Union has earned this notable distinction.

The Desjardins program recognized leadership within the credit union movement on behalf of financial literacy for all ages. The recognition program considers all activities supporting the personal finance education of members and non-members. There are separate categories for youth and adult education.

Statewide winners are selected and then move on to national judging. The national recognition is awarded by the Credit Union National Association (CUNA).

Each year, Sikorsky Credit Union fully sponsors financial reality fairs for six local high schools and awards five $1,000 college scholarships. They also have an internship programs for high school interns throughout the school year and summer. These interns gain valuable work experience while learning about the financial services industry. Additionally, the Credit Union offers a savings account to help its youngest members get on the road to savings.
